写真撮影時の指２本
日本人は写真を撮る時、2本指を立てがちです。お客様から「どういう意味なの？」とよく質問をされます。今まで特に意味など考えず、人の真似をしていただけでしたが…そう言えば「ピース」と言っていたことを思い出しました。そうです。「平和」という意味ですが、日本人は平和を願って写真に挑んでいるわけではございません。
Japanese people tend to hold up two fingers when taking pictures. Customers often ask, “What does that mean?” I am often asked. I have never really thought about the meaning and just imitated others…but then I remembered that I used to say “peace”. Yes, that’s right. It means “peace,” but Japanese people do not challenge photographs wishing for peace.
Les Japonais ont tendance à lever deux doigts lorsqu’ils prennent des photos. Les clients demandent souvent : « Qu’est-ce que cela signifie ? ». On me le demande souvent. Jusqu’à présent, je n’avais pas vraiment réfléchi à la signification et je me contentais d’imiter les autres… mais je me suis alors souvenu que j’avais l’habitude de dire « paix ». Oui, c’est vrai. Cela signifie « paix », mais les Japonais ne se lancent pas dans la photographie en pensant à la paix.

Finora non avevo pensato al significato e mi limitavo a imitare gli altri… ma poi mi sono ricordato che ero solito dire “pace”. Sì, è vero. Significa “pace”, ma i giapponesi non si dedicano alla fotografia pensando alla pace.
